Why we built this

Search "RTLS comparison" today and most of what you find is written by a company that sells one specific RTLS technology. A UWB vendor's guide usually concludes UWB is the answer. A BLE vendor's guide usually concludes BLE is.

RTLSWorld is the resource we couldn't find: a place to compare real-time location technologies and vendors against your own requirements, not a sales narrative.

How we decide what's listed

Every vendor on RTLSWorld is checked against the same criteria, whether or not they've paid us anything.

We verify the technologies and capabilities on a vendor's profile against their published specifications, not their marketing copy. We file vendors under the industries and use cases they genuinely serve, not every category they'd like to appear in. Where a vendor publishes real pricing, we link to it directly and flag it. Where they don't, we say so instead of filling the space with a vague "contact us."

This judgment is applied the same way to every vendor. It has nothing to do with whether that vendor pays for Featured placement.

What "Featured" means, and what it doesn't

Some vendor tiles carry a Featured badge with a border and a "Paid placement" tooltip. That's exactly what it sounds like: a vendor has paid for extra visibility in the directory.

Featured placement changes where a vendor appears. It does not change whether their listed technologies, industries, or use cases are accurate. It does not affect whether they show up in your Solution Finder shortlist, since matching runs on your answers against vendor attributes, not on payment. And it has no effect on the content of comparison pages, technology explainers, or the Knowledge Base.

If a vendor's placement is paid, it's labeled. If it isn't labeled, it isn't paid. That's the whole policy. See our Disclosure Policy for the full version.

How our content is written

Our comparison guides, technology explainers, and Knowledge Base articles are written independently of any vendor relationship. We draw on public specifications, standard industry terminology, and comparison data we structure ourselves, not vendor sales collateral. Where a figure is a general industry range rather than a precise, sourced number, we say so.

We're not an academic or regulatory body, and we don't claim to cover everything. We aim to be a faster, more honest starting point than a vendor's own comparison page, and a more practical one than a general technology overview that never gets to which one to buy.
