Privacy policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data RTLSWorld collects, why, who we share it with, and what your rights are. We've tried to keep it short and specific to this site.
Who we are
RTLSWorld (rtlsworld.com) is run by Tayona Digital Ltd, Bloxham Mill, Barford Road, Bloxham, OX15 4FF, United Kingdom. For data protection purposes, we're the "controller" of the personal data described here.
If you have any questions about your data, email info@tayonadigital.com.
What we collect and why
If you use the Solution Finder
The Solution Finder recommends up to 5 vendors and introduces you to them. We ask for:
- your name
- your company name
- your work email address (we don't accept personal addresses like Gmail or Hotmail, because the service is for businesses)
- your answers to the questionnaire (things like the technology, accuracy, industry and use case you're interested in)
We use this to:
- Email you your shortlist. We need your details to do the thing you asked for (lawful basis: taking steps at your request, before any contract).
- Introduce you to the vendors we recommend. That's the purpose of the Solution Finder, and we say so right next to the submit button. When you submit, we send your name, company, work email and questionnaire answers to the recommended vendors (up to 5) that are RTLSWorld partners, so they can contact you about your requirements. The other recommended vendors are told only what you're looking for (your questionnaire answers), never your name, company or email. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interest in connecting business buyers with suppliers. If you change your mind, reply to your shortlist email or email us and we'll ask the vendors to delete your details.
- Improve how the Solution Finder matches vendors. We look at the questionnaire answers to tune the matching (lawful basis: our legitimate interest in making the tool more accurate).
Website analytics
If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: pages visited, how you arrived, the type of device and browser, and your approximate location (country or city, never your precise location). This is based on your consent. If you decline, Google Analytics doesn't load at all. See Cookies below.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used to keep the site secure and running (lawful basis: legitimate interests) and isn't used to identify you.
If you email us
If you contact us, we'll use your email and anything you send us to reply. We keep the correspondence only as long as needed to deal with it.
Who we share it with
We share your data only with:
- RTLSWorld partner vendors we recommend to you through the Solution Finder, as described above. Partners pay RTLSWorld, and receiving introductions from the Solution Finder is part of what they pay for. They agree to use your details only to respond to your enquiry and to delete them if you ask. Being a partner doesn't affect which vendors match your answers. The one exception: if no vendor matches, we show you our Featured partners instead and tell you that's what they are. Once a vendor has your details, their own privacy policy also applies.
- Service providers who run the site for us, under contracts that only let them use the data to provide their service to us:
- Vercel (website hosting): USA
- Neon (database hosting): USA
- Microsoft 365 (our email, used to send your shortlist and reply to messages): UK/EU
- Google (Google Analytics, only if you accept cookies): USA
International transfers
Some of these providers store or process data in the USA. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the UK–US "data bridge" (where the provider is certified) or by the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Solution Finder submissions: 24 months from the date you submit, then deleted. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we will.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google. The analytics cookies themselves expire after up to 2 years, or straight away if you withdraw consent.
- Emails: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Cookies
We only set non-essential cookies if you agree. The cookie banner and the Cookie settings link in the footer let you accept, decline, or change your mind at any time.
Cookie / storage | Purpose | Lasts | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics: tells visitors apart | 2 years | Yes |
| Google Analytics: tracks your current visit | 2 years | Yes |
| Remembers your cookie choice (stored in your browser, not sent to us) | Until you clear it | No (strictly necessary) |
We don't use advertising cookies, and Google's advertising features are switched off. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies straight away. Read more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct it if it's wrong
- ask us to delete it
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it (this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew)
- ask for your data in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email info@tayonadigital.com. We'll respond within one month. There's no charge.
If you've asked a vendor on your shortlist to stop contacting you, you'll need to tell them directly as well, because they hold their own copy.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you by email.
